It’s that time of the year again when Halloween NFTs, or NFTs inspired by the season, are gaining popularity. Let’s see how some of them are doing.
It’s that time of the year again. People are bringing out their spooky stuff to keep up with others as they parade their costumes and go trick-or-treating. However, it’s also time to bring out the Halloween NFTs—Halloween-inspired NFTs created to attract collectors who have a preference for themed drops.
Still, while Halloween NFTs are a reasonably new concept, the fact that they are meant for the Halloween season implies a particular cultural importance that’s hard to dismiss. In fact, NFT artist Etsploit said regarding these Halloween-themed NFTs, “I think people will collect NFTs for Halloween similar to that of NFT limited editions or releases of anything else.”
So, what Halloween NFTs are shaking the NFT space’s core this year? We’ve rounded up some of this year’s anticipated Halloween drops.
Halloween NFTs for 2022
These days, Halloween has evolved into something more than dinner parties, trick-or-treating, or costume parties. Halloween has transitioned to the Metaverse, which is why marketplaces are releasing NFTs showcasing Halloween themes. Some are even organizing auctions for Halloween NFTs.
On the part of developers, they are unveiling aptly-themed projects, kick-off events, and what not to draw collectors in and make them imbibe the spirit of the season.
Now, let’s look into this season’s Halloween NFTs and see what’s worth collecting:
Deadfellaz
It is a zombie-themed profile picture (PFP) NFT project developed by pseudonymous crypto artist PsychStreetFight and his wife, Betty. It comprises 10,000 NFTs, which were initially released in August. Deadfellaz’s floor price as of this writing is 0.87 ETH.
These can rightfully be called Halloween NFTs since, as mentioned previously, the NFTs feature a swarm of trendy zombie avatars that boast randomly generated traits and attributes.
Just before Halloween, the Deadfellaz project team dropped a slew of activations and partnerships with some notable NFT projects and collectors. Last October 29, there was the Deadfellaz: Infected Metaverse Halloween Event, where DJ Steve Aoki performed. The event included live music, panel talks, galleries, airdrops, and more.
Spookies
Another aptly-themed Halloween NFT is the Spookies ghost-theme NFT project. The collection comprises 8,888 cute digital ghosts haunting their way through the Ethereum network with a current floor price of 0.01 ETH.
What’s unique about the Spookies NFTs is that all are hand drawn, and each piece boasts specialized traits and rarity levels. Being a Spookies NFT holder grants you membership into a community of collectors and gives you access to member-specific giveaways, benefits, and drops. Exciting incentives are in the offing for collectors, such as the much-anticipated Black Cat Pass and Cobweb tokens, along with merchandise on the way.
CryptoSkulls
The CryptoSkulls NFT project is another PFP project comprising 10,000 aesthetically attractive skulls. Each NFT provides utility as a playable token in the soon-to-be-released Gold of Skulls game.
It is actually an “old” NFT project that debuted in 2019 with a floor price of 0.025 ETH. However, during 2022’s NFT surge, it resurfaced and now has a current floor price of 0.44 ETH.
Pumpskin
It is an upgradable NFT idle game with a tri-tokenomic ecosystem on Avalanche. All 6,666 Pumpskin NFTs launched in August and currently have a floor price of 1 AVAX each. The project boasted a gigantic 1,536% increase in sales volume over the last 30 days, 1,036 AVAX in total.
Book of Gates
Continuing our list of Halloween NFTs for 2022 is Book of Gates, a trading game collection of 10,008 characters NFTs. It went live on October 29 and currently has an open sale mint price of 0.188 ETH.
It is based on the artist, writer, and real-life explorer Alexander Black’s graphic novel. Black is known for conducting expeditions in Egypt and ancient Petra and translating the hieroglyphics of the Egyptian Book of Gates.
DeadHeads
The DeadHeads NFT is a 10,000-piece collection of spooky yet charming 3D characters with hollow eyes. It was launched in June 2021 and was praised for trying to be the first “multimedia brand that distributes verifiable ownership of its IP to its fan base via NFTs.” The project has a current floor price of 0.05 ETH.
The project’s backstory makes it a perfect addition to this list of Halloween NFTs. According to it, the DeadHeads are characters trapped in the NFT underworld, where “unwanted digital assets are burnt alive.”
There you have it, some Halloween NFTs worth checking out if you want to imbibe the season. A spooky Halloween to all!
