SuperRare, an exclusive crypto art marketplace, has announced its latest exhibit, CryptoArt Couture, which will be displayed at the NYC Gallery from September 9-14, 2022.
Ethereum-based digital art marketplace SuperRare has announced its latest exhibit, CryptoArt Couture. The exhibition aims to integrate Web3 fashion into the New York Fashion Week.
SuperRare is an exclusive marketplace for digital art on the Ethereum network for those unfamiliar. A network of artists, collectors, and curators maintains and governs it. SuperRare has made over $260 million in total sales and has helped various artists earn more than $150 million.
It prides itself on being the largest NFT marketplace dedicated to original crypto art. It enjoys collaborations with big-name artists and even luxury brands like Gucci. Its success lies in its no-holds-barred approach to digital art.
A prime example of SupeRare’s brave partnerships is when Beeple and pop culture icon Madonna’s bizarrely erotic and somewhat NSFW NFT videos collectively called “Mother of Creation,” which the singer refers to as a “labor of love,” auctioned on the platform in May.
Incidentally, New York Fashion is already in full swing, although CryptoArt Couture will not be happening until Friday, September 9, 2022. The art exhibit will continue through September 14, 2022.
“This exhibition explores the intersection of fashion and the Metaverse,” said SuperRare curator Mika Bar-On Nesher. “We’re thrilled to see the industry, from brands like Gucci to designers like Marrisa Wilson, embrace NFTs.”
Highlights of the CryptoArt Couture Exhibit
Works from the Vault Art Space and SuperRare will highlight the CryptoArt Couture exhibit. Vault Art Space was born from a collaboration between Italian luxury brand Gucci and exclusive crypto art marketplace SuperRare.
The high-end brand is continuously seeking ways to assert its reputation as one of the most Web3 savvy luxury houses ever through the leadership of its technology-centric creative director, Alessandro Michele. Michele was actually the brains behind Gucci’s immersive Roblox experience.
It will be remembered that in June, Michele nurtured another brainchild of his, an NFT exhibit through a collaboration between SuperRare and Gucci Vault, the brand’s experimental online space. The partnership had Gucci investing $25,000 worth of RARE tokens to join the SuperRareDAO.
The buy-in made it possible for both companies to launch the NFT exhibit “Vault Art Space,” which featured artworks from 29 artists depicting Gucci’s next 100 years. Since then, Vault Art Space has become a digital venue for viewing and collecting contemporary artists’ creative and magnificent works.
And now, through CryptoArt Couture, works from Vault Art Space and SuperRare will once again lead the charge in displaying fashion in the digital world. This time, the New York Fashion Week will experience Web3 fashion through artwork from 19 artists.
