Bored Ape Yacht Club or BAYC NFTs are the stars of a new commercial from a Hong Kong-based electronic retailer and a new T-shirt line from fashion outlet Old Navy.
Broadway Lifestyle, a Hong Kong-based electronics retailer, recently released a new advertisement featuring a familiar face—a Bored Ape Yacht Club or BAYC NFT. The 35-second ad shows BAYC NFT #1201 interacting with various electronics.
BAYC NFT #1201, Star of the Commercial
The commercial promotes the products and brands that Broadway Lifestyle, a one-stop electronics and electrical appliances retailer in Hong Kong, carries in its over 30 stores.
At the start of the 35-second commercial, BAYC NFT #1201 can be seen on the other side of a Samsung Neo QLED TV monitor yawning from boredom.
Later, the same Bored Ape can be seen blasting off into space in a rocket ship displayed on an LG StandbyMe monitor.
The star of the commercial is identified as BAYC NFT #1201, a six-trait black fur primate wearing a red BAYC hat, heart glasses, and a cross earring on one ear. As per Rarity Tools, the traits of this particular Bored Ape make it the 827th most rare BAYC character.
It is owned by a BAYC member and OpenSea user who goes by the handle sweettoothvault.eth. No further details are provided about the NFT’s owner, although it seems the BAYC NFT has been in his possession since August 21, 2021, when he purchased it for Ξ 40, or about $56,900 at current prices.
Hiring BAYC NFTs for “Jobs”
Broadway Lifestyle’s initiative is probably borne out of the latest trend of hiring BAYC NFTs to be used for various campaigns. Mouse Belt Labs, a blockchain accelerator, recently launched a marketplace called Boredjobs, where all 10,000 Bored Ape NFTs are listed, and brands can browse through the list and “indicate interest in hiring [a Bored Ape] for campaigns.”
Apart from Broadway Lifestyle, another big-name business will use a Bored Ape as the face of its latest T-shirt line.
BAYC NFT and Old Navy
Fashion outlet Old Navy recently hired BAYC NFT #7285’s services to be the face of its latest BAYC-themed T-shirts.
As seen in the picture above, Old Navy’s latest T-shirt design features a bored-looking primate wearing a striped black and white shirt, a bowler hat, and a noisemaker in its mouth. The T-shirt is available in Old Navy’s retail outlets and Gap’s online store for $19.99. Incidentally, Gap is Old Navy’s parent company.
Made of 100% cotton, the BAYC -themed T-shirt is available in various sizes, from extra small (XS) to quadruple large (XXXXL). BAYC NFT #7285 is among those listed by its rightful owner for hiring purposes, which means its owner will receive financial compensation for its use by Old Navy.
According to Old Navy, it plans to expand its NFT-related clothing range by adding other blue-chip collectibles. NFT enthusiasts will soon see six BAYCs, 11 Mutant Ape Yacht Club, one CryptoPunk, and six CloneX NFTs gracing Old Navy T-shirts.
Broadway Lifestyle and Old Navy’s latest initiatives mark an emerging trend for NFT owners who earn from their digital assets while maintaining complete ownership of their NFTs. BAYC NFTs and other similar assets are now no longer just quirky images sitting in their owners’ wallets. As long as they can verify ownership of the NFTs, holders can earn extra income from their valuable NFTs and have fun on the side, too.
