The World of Women NFT announced that Madonna would be a special guest in its NFT.NYC party on June 23 in celebration of Pride Month.
The World of Women (WoW) NFT Twitter account set the social network platform ablaze early this morning with an exciting announcement. They announced that the Queen of Pop would be performing at the New York City Pride March on June 23, 2022.
The “Material Girl” singer herself announced her plans for two concerts on June 23 and 24 when she went live on TikTok with producer Sickick. Madonna even teased a possible collaboration between her and Sickick so they could perform their remix of “Frozen” for everyone.
A World of Women Production
World of Women (WoW), an NFT collection from a group of female digital artists representing inclusivity and equal opportunities for women of all shades and preferences, will promote the show. The event will coincide with the NFT.NYC, with a focus on pride celebration.
WoW is just one of the bluechip NFT collections that will be joining the NFT.NYC this year, along with the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), whose annual ApeFest coincides with the NFT.NYC festivities, too. Each WoW and World of Women Galaxy (WoWG) holder can attend WoW’s party and watch Madonna perform for free.
WoW is one of the more popular NFT projects embracing representation and equal opportunities for all. Their promotion of Madonna’s “Finally Enough Love” concert during the Pride NYC celebration is a testament to their unwavering support for equality regardless of which color you represent. Incidentally, “Finally Enough Love” is the title of Madonna’s upcoming 16-track remix album, featuring her number one hits.
Madonna hinted about her collaboration with WoW on her Twitter account. She posted a WoW NFT with the caption, “It takes a lot to WoW me,” and she mentioned WoW in her post.
They are also collaborating with The Sandbox to bring Madonna’s concert to everyone who will be present at the NFT.NYC celebrations. The Sandbox is another staunch supporter and ally of the LGBTQ+ community. Proof of this is their most recent partnership with NYX Professional Makeup and People of Crypto (POC), where they dropped 8,340 avatars in celebration of Pride Month.
Madonna Repping the LGBTQ+ Community
The 63-year-old “Vogue” singer has always been vocal about her support of the LGBTQ+ community. In the ‘80s, Madonna was among the first celebrities to voice her concern about the government’s seeming lack of help for those affected by the AIDS crisis.
In 1992, she also released a song dedicated to one of her best friends who died of AIDS. She was also among the first to uphold drag art by taking a group of drag queens to the MTV Video Music Awards when it was still ostracized in 1999.
Ever the iconic performer, she braved countries where homosexuality was considered a crime in the 2000s. On one such trip, she went to Russia and used her voice to speak against homophobia. The “Justify My Love” singer also attended the GLAAD Awards in 2013 dressed as a Boy Scout to protest the Boy Scouts’ homophobic membership ideals.
