Yuga Labs’s Otherside Metaverse teases a video demo Wednesday night for “The Voyager’s Journey,” an exclusive interactive experience for Otherdeed holders.
Almost two weeks after the launch of Yuga Labs’s Otherside Metaverse comes another reveal. This time, Otherside unveiled “The Voyager’s Journey” on its website, with a bonus video demo shared on Twitter Wednesday night.
It just might be what Otherside Metaverse needs to recoup from the April 30 Otherdeed mint, which was met with mixed reactions from the NFT and Metaverse spaces.
The Voyager’s Journey
The highlight of the Otherside Metaverse’s launch was the minting of Otherdeed NFTs. Those are NFT digital land deeds critical to claiming land on Otherside. With the release of “The Voyager’s Journey,” Otherdeed holders finally have something to use their NFTs on.
The tweet mentions “fragments of an ‘Obelisk’” that have “washed ashore in the Biogenic Swamp.” The Biogenic Swamp is found at the center of the Otherside, 10,000 of which were included in the April 30 minting.
Those who hold Otherdeed NFTs automatically becomes a Voyager on this “journey.” They can use their Otherdeed NFTs to help build the Otherside Metaverse by reassembling the Obelisk fragments.
The Obelisk Fragments
Visiting the Otherside website, users will see a new tab called “Obelisk,” where the details are provided. The Otherside Metaverse official Twitter account provided users with a video demonstrating the gameplay in another tweet.
However, this first tech demo is only for Otherdeed NFT holders. Dubbed “First Trip,” the website says it is a “celebration of what’s to come and an opportunity to gather, explore, and plan.”
The fragments of the Obelisk represent various stages of the gameplay. The First Trip mentioned above is the first piece of the Obelisk. The second piece is the “Codex,” which would allow to link lands and create co-written stories. However, you are advised to tread carefully since “today’s decisions bring possibilities and risks for the future of the Otherside.”
The third piece is “The Decoupling,” where you get to decide where the Kodas and their artifacts go after a cosmic earthquake shakes up the universe. The fourth Obelisk fragment is “The Growth,” where lands on the Otherside come to life to generate resources. However, as the Codex implies, present-day decisions could affect the Otherside’s future; thus, players can expect the emergence of a destructive species.
The fifth piece is “The Agora,” where you are encouraged to build, create, and innovate. The sixth Obelisk piece is “The Dream,” where an arcade machine surprisingly emerges at the center of the Biogenic Swamp. If you use their trips wisely, they could earn rewards.
“The Choice” is the seventh piece. Here, you get to choose a side—friends or foes? New lands will be activated here, but they would only be available to you. The eighth piece is “The Setting,” where you use their resources and crafted items to build the Otherside. The website says, “the Otherside is what you make of it.”
The ninth piece, “The Toolkit,” is a software development kit (SDK) that will open new opportunities for you. So they practically have a hand on how the Otherside is built. The tenth piece is “The Aeronauts,” hinting at the possibility of you discovering something new about the Otherside from a different perspective.
Finally, the eleventh fragment of the Obelisk is “The Rift.” Voyagers can start exploring the Otherside fully after an interdimensional rift opens the sky.
Although the Obelisk is completed, there is more to “The Voyager’s Journey.” The gameplay looks exciting, so users are probably anticipating their participation in the Otherside’s development. Check back for Otherside and “The Voyager’s Journey” updates.
